Just as Pioneer values club DJ gear standards that clearly entice mobile DJ gears as well as venturing with controllerism, the rack mountable old school ones will not be left behind. Soon, they will be releasing two new partners, MEP-4000 and DJM-4000, to add to their list of gear, embedded to fulfill this particular mobile DJ need.
Pioneer will launch the “MEP-4000″, a mobile DJ/club-oriented rack mount type multi entertainment player that enables DJ play using various music sources, along with the “DJM-4000″, a mixer with a built-in electric crossover.
In the mobile DJ/wedding DJ party markets and locations such as small clubs and music bars, etc., where DJ play is dependent on bringing in the requisite equipment, mostly rack-mounted types of DJ equipment are used thanks to their convenience in terms of transportation and installation. Also, in recent years there has been an increase in the number of DJs performing with various music files such as MP3 in addition to CDs.
In addition to normal music CDs, the “MEP-4000″ also supports playback of music files such as MP3, etc. recorded on various media including CD-R/RW, USB memory, HDD, and so on *1. Also, by using the “rekordbox™” *2 music management software, music files stored on PCs can be managed, enabling speedy song selection and diverse DJ performances.
The “DJM-4000″ has the three basic functions that are needed at parties – MC, DJ and PA functions – and its built-in electric crossover function makes it possible to adjust the crossover frequency of the master output and subwoofer output. This means that speaker and subwoofer bass balance in party and event venues can be adjusted to the optimum levels for clear and powerful sound quality. Both the “MEP-4000″ and “DJM-4000″ support 19-inch rack mounts, providing excellent portability for mobile DJs/wedding DJs and ensuring compact installation at small clubs and music bars.
*1 Flash memory and HDD devices with USB connections that can be played with this device are limited to USB mass storage devices. However, the operation and supply of electricity for all of these devices cannot be guaranteed. Also, copyright-protected files cannot be played.
*2 The “rekordbox™” music management software was developed in cooperation with MixVibes, Inc. for operation in conjunction with Pioneer products and is a registered trademark of Pioneer Corporation.
